Dear Mr. Adams,

I recently submitted an update to the alumni database...thank you for incorporating this.

Some of my classmates have encouraged me to submit a photo, so I thought this summit shot from a climbing expedition last summer would be best.

Thank you,
Orville Benevides

Ah, Mr. Adams, you are a gentleman as well as a scholar.

Thank you for updating the narrative, and I look forward to seeing my photo on the website as well when you have a chance to post it there.

Hey, Orv,

Where's your mountain climbing picture?  The class is getting restive.

Dear Richard,

A classmate has alerted me that my recent photo must have been lost in transit.  The class of 1970 would appreciate your posting it for me.

Many thanks,
Orville Benevides.

PS: In case it is causing you any concern, I should note that the spelling of my last name was incorrect in the annual.  (They had it as "Orville Benevitos.")  Please be assured that Benevides is the correct spelling.

Gee, Orville, I posted that climbing picture a long time ago.  I'll  check the web site to see if it got lost somehow.  The various Orville Benevides keep spelling things differently, but I've never seen the Benevitos variant.

I checked and the hiking picture is still up where it has been for a long time.  Perhaps you need to click "reload" on your browser so that a recent version of the page (not one just loaded from your cache file) comes up.

Richard,

This kind of thing has been happening to me MY WHOLE LIFE!  Like when the photographer lost our photos at the senior prom!  And the teachers who didn't even seem to RECOGNIZE me!  And then there was that yearbook incident: they not only lost my photo, they misspelled my name!  I tried to get away from it all by starting a business in Oregon...but you know what Oregonians are like!  Still, things seemed to be going OK, and after the IPO I thought I would finally receive some recognition.  But now this...my photo still missing from the CV alumni page!!!  Where will it end?

I tried reloading the alumni page, clearing my disk cache, restarting the computer, kicking the computer, and I'm still the ONLY classmate with a missing photo.  I tried loading the location of my missing picture itself and I still get the dreaded "Not Found" message...LIKE I DIDN'T EVEN EXIST!

Richard, don't toy with me!  I'm in a delicate mental state as it is, and this could push me over!  Anyone on the 30-year reunion committee can vouch for me.  Jay Helms has offered to put my photo on cvhs70.com, but it's just not the same.  So please, please see if you can post my photo so I can, once again, be with my friends!

Yours hopefully,
Orville Benevides

Dear Benevides Combine,

Mea Culpa.  I know I put that photo up there months ago.  I re-loaded it again tonight, so you can see the proper non-identifiable distance shot of Orville on the mountain.  You were right - it wasn't there.  I'm not sure how long it has been missing, but it's there now as of 9:55 p.m., Sunday 3/12/2000.

Grazie mille, Richard!!!   Finally those kids who didn't choose me for the football team ... those girls who wouldn't go out with me ... those nerds who thought they were so much smarter than me ... those big men on campus who wouldn't hang with me ... those teachers who ignored me ... ALL OF THEM can at last see what they missed out on.  It's a red letter day for the entire Benevides family!

Your friends,
Orv and pals
Class of 1970 (for sure)
